Half Life 2 and Portal 2 Writer Returns to Valve

The very first time I heard about Erik Walpow’s return, my heart skipped a beat, could this by any means mean that a Half Life 3 is possible? Ide like to think so. So, lets just keep our fingers crossed and get to the main article.

Erik Walpow the writer of Half Life 2 and Portal 2 left Valve back in 2017. But recently he came back to Valve and has become the 2nd major portal writer to come back following Jay Pinkertons return back in July 2018.

A Redditor noticed his name at the end credits of Valves card game Artifact and reached out to Gabe Newell himself to confirm the news which Gabe himself did confirm.

“I’ve had a contractor agreement with Valve since the day I stormed out and then immediately timidly stormed back in to ask could I please have my old job back and they said “no” and I was like good because I’m too busy to work for you anyway and they said but you can be a contractor and I said oh thank god okay I’ll do that,” Wolpaw said.

“I’ve been helping Pinkerton and Jaros and Vanaman whenever they need it. It’s been busier on that front lately, but I’m not currently a full-time employee. My main gig is still delivering juice for my niece Jodi’s vegan juice shop plus an unpaid internship playing Slay the Spire three hours a day.”

With about half of Valves powerhouse back together and the fact that Valve has decided to make game again people can start to dream about Half Life 3 again, as I said, no harm in dreaming right.
