Where to Find Flares

Flares are found in orange cases that are outside the entrances of some caves and bunkers. You can also find them at some points of interest, like where the pistol is found, and sometimes at the location of your helicopter crash.

How to Use Flares

Flares sticks can be equipped by the player and ignited by pressing / . The player can choose to hold it in their hand, as a means of lightening what’s immediately in front of them, or they can throw the flare (with / ) to brighten up an area farther away. Some reports say that flares can scare some enemies away, but that is not our experience.
